GETTING STARTED

Your First Visit with Complete Chiropractic

On your first visit to our practice you can expect to be here for about 45 minutes. Our friendly staff will welcome you and guide you through the paperwork you will need to complete so that we can find out how we can best help you. During this particular visit will be to gather as much information about your condition as possible.

Once your new patient forms are completed, you will go in with the chiropractor who will discuss the information on your forms with you, as well as any concerns that you have. Given that the chiropractic approach may be different from previous treatment you have tried, they may discuss some useful concepts with you so that you have a clearer understanding of how the body works and how the chiropractic care we provide will be beneficial to you. You will have an in-depth discussion about your current and past condition(s), and your medical history. This helps us to identify how your condition may have occurred and if it is related to other health issues you may have.

If following this discussion, they feel that chiropractic may be of benefit to you, they will conduct a comprehensive NeuroStructural Chiropractic Examination. This includes postural assessment, range of movement evaluation, palpation (feeling the problem areas) examination. This enables us to determine where your problem is and what structures are involved.

What to expect in our NeuroStructural Chiropractic Examination:

If the chiropractor believes that x-rays are necessary to help us better understand your condition, you will be referred out to get these.

Please note that any past imaging or reports are always useful to bring in to our chiropractors for retrospective analysis, comparison and review

Spinal x-rays allow us to completely analyse your spinal characteristics, help us to rule out more serious conditions and assist us in the development of the most effective care plan for you.

chiropractic

On your second visit to the practice, your chiropractor will explain in detail what information was discovered during your initial consultation. If Spinal X rays were taken, you will be walked through each of these with an explanation of how your spine looks in relation to what we would expect to see, but more importantly, how this relates to the problem you have come in to the clinic for. There may be a lot of information to take in, but we believe that a thorough understanding of the problem is beneficial to you getting the best possible outcome.

During this visit, once again, you will have ample opportunity to ask any questions you may have. This is a great time to bring your spouse, partner or support friend should you wish, so that they may understand how to best assist and support you in your journey back to optimal health. We are a family practice so we both understand and encourage the benefits of working together to support you.

The main component of this visit is that your chiropractor will outline a care plan for what will be required to resolve your problem. This will include the scheduling frequency of adjustments, and may involve some home care recommendations and exercises also. The basis of these recommendations includes the expected healing time for the injured tissues involved in your particular situation, functional capacity as tested in your physical examination on day one, your age, pain severity and duration, and the presence of any other complicating factors such as degenerative changes or other pathology.

Following these visits, most of our patients elect to undergo a program of care to address their spinal issues properlyUltimately, what direction you decide to take with your spinal health is always up to you. Your care plan is specifically tailored for your needs and will vary according to your individual circumstances and spinal condition.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns during your care, please tell us! We will always schedule a specific case management meeting for you where we can address any problems that may arise

Review Exam

If you have chosen to have care, along the way the chiropractors will continue to monitor your progress- we do this in the form of a reexam. This is done in case we need to change anything such as exercises or treatment style. At this appointment we will repeat all of the assessments conducted on the first visit so that we can objectively gauge your progress from the beginning up until this point . Once all of these factors have been considered, further recommendations will be made on the next phase of your care, including strategies for prevention of future problems and maintenance of positive outcomes gained so far.
